Happy Pride Month 🌈🧡

I really hope this month you’re able to celebrate your authenticity in whatever way feels right for you. However, I encourage you to remember that our rainbow community is under attack perhaps more than ever before. Religion is being used as a weapon against us…and our right to exist safely and peacefully is being moved around like a chess piece to suit political agendas when it is convenient for a vote.

I feel disheartened at times but I am also hopeful. Darkness can not exist where there is light. I’ve always felt a bit of shame when Pride comes around, often staying quiet so as to not make others uncomfortable - not this year. I am so very proud of how far I’ve come and where I’m headed. Shine bright friends: today, this month, and always.

On June 4th, The Rainbow Collective released an original song called “This Little Light.” Myself along with 21 other LGBTQIA+ artists from across Canada came together to record this anthem of hope, a charity single with all proceeds going to @the519. This project has been a labour of love from the get go, I wrote the song with two of my favourite people in the business @andrewmartino_ and @lizrodriguesofficial and the song features some of the most incredible talent in the country: @amandarheaume, @baylaofficial, @billi_day, @thisisbryn, @basementrevolver, @heyericafox, @iskwe, @jefferystraker, @thekayladiamond, @who.is.vi, @micahbarnes01, @thequeenpriyanka, @songsbyralph, @theraymondsalgado, @rylandjamesmusic, @sebastiangaskin, @steventaetz, @swtbb, @tafarianthony, @your.hunni, @z.enon.
